| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Emily Richmond Gilby of Cedar Park has ably served |

| 7 | 8 | | John H. Bucy III during the 86th Legislative Session; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Gilby has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |

| 10 | 11 | | which have included conducting policy research and analyzing bills; |

| 11 | 12 | | in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |

| 12 | 13 | | service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Ralph and Kim Gilby, Emily Gilby is a |

| 15 | 16 | | sophomore at Southwestern University, where she is working toward |

| 16 | 17 | | her political science degree, and she plans to pursue a career in |

| 17 | 18 | | law; her academic achievements at Southwestern University have |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | earned her placement on the dean's list and recognition as a Finch |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Scholar, and she has further distinguished herself as a member of |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | the university's mock trial team and as co-chair of the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Southwestern College Democrats; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 23 | 24 | | duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 24 | 25 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
