 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Emily Richmond Gilby of Cedar Park has ably served
 her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State Representative
 John H. Bucy III during the 86th Legislative Session; and
 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Gilby has provided
 vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks,
 which have included conducting policy research and analyzing bills;
 in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public
 service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the
 issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of Ralph and Kim Gilby, Emily Gilby is a
 sophomore at Southwestern University, where she is working toward
 her political science degree, and she plans to pursue a career in
 law; her academic achievements at Southwestern University have
 earned her placement on the dean's list and recognition as a Finch
 Scholar, and she has further distinguished herself as a member of
 the university's mock trial team and as co-chair of the
 Southwestern College Democrats; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
 duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is
 indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Emily Richmond Gilby for her service as
 a legislative aide in the office of State Representative John H.
 Bucy III and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success
 in all her endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Gilby as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
