R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jan Stovall, a third-grade reading teacher at
Morningside Elementary School in the Dumas Independent School
District, has been named the 2019 Elementary Teacher of the Year by
the Region 16 Education Service Center; and
WHEREAS, The winners of these prestigious annual awards are
first nominated for consideration by their fellow faculty members,
and those who are later chosen as district Teacher of the Year
become eligible for the regional honor; and
WHEREAS, Jan Stovall exemplifies the passion, determination,
and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers,
and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her
profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jan Stovall on her selection as the
2019 Elementary Teacher of the Year by the Region 16 Education
Service Center and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success with her important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Stovall as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
