H.R. No. 518
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The World Pugilist Hall of Fame in Laredo is
focusing attention on the varied forms of hand-to-hand combat that
have won millions of passionate fans and participants around the
globe; and
WHEREAS, Affiliated with USA Savate, the World Pugilist Hall
of Fame honors individuals who have excelled as teachers and
competitors in their particular fields of martial arts; members
must meet rigorous eligibility criteria, including direct lineage
to the founder of a style or system, and must exemplify the
traditions associated with their discipline; and
WHEREAS, The World Pugilist Hall of Fame preserves the
heritage and achievements of those who excel in the pugilistic
arts, and it is indeed worthy of commendation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
Legislature hereby honor the World Pugilist Hall of Fame and extend
to all those associated with the organization sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the hall of fame as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
