| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Angela Miner is retiring from the Plano City Council |

| 6 | 7 | | in 2019, drawing to a close an exemplary tenure in office; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Elected to Place 1 on the city council in 2015, |

| 8 | 9 | | Ms. Miner has served in various capacities over the course of her |

| 9 | 10 | | four-year term, including as deputy mayor pro tem, and she has held |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | membership with the National League of Cities' Public Safety & |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Crime Prevention Committee and Women in Municipal Government; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Miner has also devoted her time and talents to |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the Plano Independent School District Council of PTAs, serving as |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | president and holding leadership roles on numerous boards; she |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | received Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Texas PTA and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | National PTA in honor of her tireless work in behalf of area |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | children; in addition, she has been involved with such groups as the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Plano ISD Education Foundation, the Women's Auxiliary to Children's |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Medical Center Plano, and Women Making A Difference In Plano; born |

| 20 | 21 | | in Australia and raised in Athens, Greece, Ms. Miner has resided in |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Plano since 1996, and in 2017, she garnered the Immigrant Spirit |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Award for her significant contributions to her community; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Miner enjoys the love and |

| 24 | 25 | | support of her husband, Pat, and she takes great pride in their two |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | daughters and two granddaughters; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Angela Miner's dedication, expertise, and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | commitment to the prosperity of her community have greatly |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | benefited the residents of Plano, and she may indeed reflect with |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Angela Miner on her retirement from |

| 32 | 33 | | the Plano City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for the |
