46 AN ACT
57 relating to the authority of a county to require electronic bids or
68 proposals for competitive bidding.
79 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
810 SECTION 1. Section 262.0225, Local Government Code, is
911 amended by amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (c-1) to
1012 read as follows:
1113 (c) A county may receive bids or proposals under this
1214 subchapter in hard-copy format or through electronic transmission.
1315 Except as provided by Subsection (c-1), a [A] county shall accept
1416 any bids or proposals submitted in hard-copy format.
1517 (c-1) A commissioners court of a county may by order require
1618 submission of bids or proposals under this subchapter through
1719 electronic transmission.
1820 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1921 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2022 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2123 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2224 Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
