7 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
8 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 28.025, Education Code, is amended by | |
9 | 11 | adding Subsection (b-6) to read as follows: | |
10 | 12 | (b-6) A school district may allow a student to enroll | |
11 | 13 | concurrently in Algebra I and geometry. | |
12 | 14 | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2019-2020 | |
13 | 15 | school year. | |
14 | 16 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
15 | 17 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
16 | 18 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
17 | 19 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
18 | 20 | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | |
