| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 303.003, Labor Code, is amended by | |
| 10 | 10 | adding Subsection (b-3) to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (b-3) Funds awarded under this section, other than funds | |
| 12 | 12 | awarded under Subsection (b-2), may be awarded only to support | |
| 13 | 13 | job-training purposes that address the needs of high-demand | |
| 14 | 14 | occupations, as identified by: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) the applicable local workforce development board's | |
| 16 | 16 | regional targeted or high-demand occupations list; or | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) the commission's most recent growth occupations | |
| 18 | 18 | report under Section 302.019. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
