| 8 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 352, Labor Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 352.060 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 13 | | Sec. 352.060. REPORT REGARDING OCCUPATIONAL SKILLS |
|---|
| 12 | 14 | | TRAINING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL |
|---|
| 13 | 15 | | DISABILITIES. (a) The commission shall prepare a report that |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | identifies: |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | (1) potential funding sources for occupational skills |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | training programs for individuals with intellectual and |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | developmental disabilities; and |
|---|
| 18 | 20 | | (2) specific occupations in high-demand industries in |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | this state for which a postsecondary certification, occupational |
|---|
| 20 | 22 | | license, or other workforce credential is required and that may be |
|---|
| 21 | 23 | | appropriate for individuals with intellectual and developmental |
|---|
| 22 | 24 | | disabilities. |
|---|
| 23 | 25 | | (b) Not later than November 1, 2020, the commission shall: |
|---|
| 24 | 26 | | (1) publish the report in a prominent location on the |
|---|
| 25 | 27 | | commission's Internet website; and |
|---|
| 26 | 28 | | (2) submit a copy of the report to each legislative |
|---|
| 27 | 29 | | standing committee with jurisdiction over workforce development or |
|---|
| 28 | 30 | | vocational rehabilitative services. |
|---|
| 29 | 31 | | (c) This section expires September 1, 2021. |
|---|
| 30 | 32 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
