A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to fees collected by the Automobile Burglary and Theft
Prevention Authority.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 10, Article 4413(37), Revised Statutes,
is amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
(f) An amount equal to at least one-third of the fees
collected under Subsection (b) in each biennium shall be
appropriated to the authority for the purposes of this article.
SECTION 2. Section 10(f), Article 4413(37), Revised
Statutes, as added by this Act, applies only to a fee collected on
or after the effective date of this Act. A fee collected before the
effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the
date the fee was collected, and the former law is continued in
effect for that purpose.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
