| 8 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Section 1701.260(g), Occupations Code, is |

| 10 | 15 | | amended to read as follows: |

| 11 | 16 | | (g) A person's license under this section expires on August |
|---|
| 12 | 17 | | 31 following [the first birthday of the person occurring after] the |
|---|
| 13 | 18 | | second anniversary of the date the commission licenses the person. |

| 14 | 19 | | A renewed school marshal license expires on August 31 [the person's |
|---|
| 15 | 20 | | birth date], two years after the expiration of the previous |
|---|
| 16 | 21 | | license. |

| 17 | 22 | | SECTION 2. A license issued or renewed before the effective |

| 18 | 23 | | date of this Act expires on August 31 following the second |

| 19 | 24 | | anniversary of the date the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement |
