46 AN ACT
57 relating to personal information that may be omitted from certain
68 records, licenses, and reports and to other court security
79 measures.
810 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
911 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 254, Election Code, is
1012 amended by adding Section 254.0313 to read as follows:
1113 Sec. 254.0313. OMISSION OF ADDRESS FOR JUDGE AND SPOUSE.
1214 (a) In this section, "federal judge" and "state judge" have the
1315 meanings assigned by Section 13.0021.
1416 (b) On receiving notice from the Office of Court
1517 Administration of the Texas Judicial System of a judge's
1618 qualification for office or on receipt of a written request from a
1719 federal judge, state judge, or spouse of a federal or state judge,
1820 the commission shall remove or redact the residence address of a
1921 federal judge, a state judge, or the spouse of a federal or state
2022 judge from any report filed by the judge in the judge's capacity or
2123 made available on the Internet under this chapter.
2224 SECTION 2. Section 72.015, Government Code, is amended by
2325 adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
2426 (d) The director of security and emergency preparedness
2527 shall annually submit to the legislature:
2628 (1) a report on court security activities throughout
2729 the state supported by the judicial security division, including:
2830 (A) the technical aspects of providing court
2931 security;
3032 (B) court security training provided or required
3133 by the judicial security division;
3234 (C) sufficiency of judicial security division
3335 resources to evaluate and monitor court security; and
3436 (D) the adequacy of funding to maintain court
3537 security; and
3638 (2) recommendations for:
3739 (A) monitoring the use of state resources in
3840 providing court security;
3941 (B) improving court security; and
4042 (C) increasing the amount of state funds and
4143 other resources made available for court security.
42- SECTION 3. Section 145.007, Local Government Code, is
43- amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
44- (d) On the written request of a municipal court judge of the
45- municipality or a candidate for municipal court judge, the clerk or
46- secretary of the municipality shall remove or redact the residence
47- address of the municipal court judge, municipal court judge's
48- spouse, or candidate for the office of municipal court judge, from a
49- financial statement filed under this chapter before the financial
50- statement is made available to a member of the public.
51- SECTION 4. Chapter 159, Local Government Code, is amended
52- by adding Subchapter D to read as follows:
53- SUBCHAPTER D. PROTECTION FOR JUDICIAL OFFICERS
54- Sec. 159.071. OMISSION OF ADDRESS. (a) In this section:
55- (1) "County attorney" means a county attorney whose
56- jurisdiction includes any criminal law or child protective services
57- matter.
58- (2) "State judge" has the meaning assigned by Section
59- 13.0021, Election Code.
60- (b) On receiving notice from the Office of Court
61- Administration of the Texas Judicial System of a county attorney's
62- or state judge's qualifications for office or on receipt of a
63- written request from a county attorney, state judge, spouse of a
64- county attorney or state judge, or candidate for the office of
65- county attorney or state judge, the county clerk shall remove or
66- redact the residence address of the county attorney, state judge,
67- spouse of a county attorney or state judge, or candidate for the
68- office of county attorney or state judge from any report filed under
69- this chapter by the county attorney, state judge, or candidate
70- before the statement is made available to a member of the public.
71- SECTION 5. Section 11.008(a), Property Code, is amended to

8558 (2) the individual:
8659 (A) chooses to restrict public access to the
8760 information on the form prescribed for that purpose by the
8861 comptroller under Section 5.07; or
8962 (B) is a federal or state judge [as defined by
9063 Section 572.002, Government Code], or the spouse of a federal or
9164 state judge, beginning on the date the Office of Court
9265 Administration of the Texas Judicial System notifies the appraisal
9366 district of the judge's qualification for the judge's office.
94- SECTION 7. Section 521.121(c), Transportation Code, is

10174 that address, the street address of the courthouse in which the
10275 license holder or license holder's spouse serves as a federal judge
10376 or state judge.
104- SECTION 8. Section 254.0313, Election Code, as added by
