A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to political expenditures made by a corporation to finance
the solicitation of political contributions to a political
committee.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 253.100(b), Election Code, is amended to
read as follows:
(b) A corporation may make political expenditures to
finance the solicitation of political contributions to a
general-purpose committee assisted under Subsection (a) from the
stockholders, employees, or families of stockholders or employees
of one or more corporations, including soliciting political
contributions by making charitable contributions that fully or
partially match the political contributions.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
