| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Victoria Hinojos for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, |

| 4 | 4 | | which is being presented to her on April 14, 2019; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Few Girl Scouts attain this distinguished award; |

| 6 | 6 | | the Gold Award is the highest level of achievement in the Girl |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Scout program; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Girl Scout program helps girls develop |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | leadership skills and organizational abilities and encourages a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | commitment to community service; girls working toward the Girl |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Scout Gold Award gain valuable experience that will contribute to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | their future success; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, To earn the Gold Award, Victoria met a series of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | requirements that demonstrated her leadership abilities, and she |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | designed and conducted a service project that will have a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | positive and lasting effect on her community; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, She organized and oversaw the construction of a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | laundry facility for Friends of Women, Incorporated, a nonprofit |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | organization that serves the victims of domestic violence; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, By earning the Gold Award, Victoria has brought |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | honor to herself, her family, her council, and her community, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | she deserves recognition for her diligence and her outstanding |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Victoria Hinojos on receiving the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her congratulations on her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | exemplary accomplishment; and, be it further |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
