| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Hannah J. Edelstein, who has earned the Girl Scout Gold |

| 4 | 4 | | Award; she is being presented the coveted award on April 14, |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 2019; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Few receive this distinguished award, which is |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the highest level of achievement in the Girl Scout program; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Through the process of earning the Gold Award, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | girls develop a lifelong commitment to community service and gain |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | skills that will contribute to their future success; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Hannah has displayed leadership by designing and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | conducting a service project that will have a positive and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | lasting effect on her community; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Hannah organized efforts to provide commercial |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | laundry equipment to Friendship of Women, Incorporated, a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | nonprofit organization that serves the victims of domestic |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | violence; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In receiving the Gold Award, Hannah has brought |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | great honor to herself, her family, her council, her community, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and her state, and she deserves recognition for her exceptional |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | accomplishment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend Hannah J. Edelstein on receiving the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Girl Scout Gold Award and congratulate her on her outstanding |

| 25 | 25 | | achievement; and, be it further |
