| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Charles and Jo Ann Whiteside of Kilgore received |

| 3 | 3 | | the W. T. Tardy Service Award from East Texas Baptist University |

| 4 | 4 | | at the college's homecoming chapel service in October 2018; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. Whiteside have worked diligently to |

| 6 | 6 | | further the university's mission of providing faith-based |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | education in East Texas; they are dedicated supporters of the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | university's school of communication, school of nursing, and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | performing arts events, and they are regular attendees of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | annual Great East Texas Hymn Sing and Hilltop University |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | conference; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Longtime members of the East Texas community, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Dr. and Mrs. Whiteside are devoted congregants of First Baptist |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Church Kilgore and serve as advocates for Baptist Student |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Ministry in Texas; the founder of Ana-Lab Corporation in Kilgore, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Dr. Whiteside operated the company as chief executive officer for |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | more than 60 years, and he currently serves as president |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | emeritus; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through their commitment to upholding the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | traditions and values of East Texas Baptist University, Charles |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and Jo Ann Whiteside have made a positive difference in the lives |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | of countless students, and they are indeed deserving of this |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Charles and Jo Ann Whiteside on |

| 26 | 26 | | their receipt of the W. T. Tardy Service Award from East Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Baptist University and extend to them sincere best wishes for the |
