| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Mary Esther Sanchez, who died |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | March 19, 2019, at the age of 70; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born January 2, 1949, Mary Esther Sanchez was a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | woman of great faith and compassion who enriched the lives of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | those who knew her through her kind and loving nature; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mary Esther Sanchez earned a degree from Ursuline |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Academy in 1967, and she went on to earn a bachelor's degree from |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | The University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree from Our |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Lady of the Lake University; she served as a special education |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | teacher in San Antonio for several years, and she retired from |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the classroom in 1979; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Sanchez shared 42 years of marriage with her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | beloved husband, Dr. Homero R. Sanchez Jr., and they were blessed |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | with three children, Homero Sanchez III, Cecilia Sanchez, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Christina Blackford; she was a devoted wife and mother, and she |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | instilled in her children a love of learning and an appreciation |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | for the arts; she took great joy in spending time with her three |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | grandchildren, Christian and Charlotte Blackford and Benicio |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Galvan; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Sanchez was a cherished member of her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | community, and she will long be remembered with respect and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | admiration by all who were privileged to share in her life; now, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | family of Mary Esther Sanchez; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 33 | 33 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
