                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 517
 In Memory
 of
 Mary Esther Sanchez
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Mary Esther Sanchez, who died
 March 19, 2019, at the age of 70; and
 WHEREAS, Born January 2, 1949, Mary Esther Sanchez was a
 woman of great faith and compassion who enriched the lives of
 those who knew her through her kind and loving nature; and
 WHEREAS, Mary Esther Sanchez earned a degree from Ursuline
 Academy in 1967, and she went on to earn a bachelor's degree from
 The University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree from Our
 Lady of the Lake University; she served as a special education
 teacher in San Antonio for several years, and she retired from
 the classroom in 1979; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Sanchez shared 42 years of marriage with her
 beloved husband, Dr. Homero R. Sanchez Jr., and they were blessed
 with three children, Homero Sanchez III, Cecilia Sanchez, and
 Christina Blackford; she was a devoted wife and mother, and she
 instilled in her children a love of learning and an appreciation
 for the arts; she took great joy in spending time with her three
 grandchildren, Christian and Charlotte Blackford and Benicio
 Galvan; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Sanchez was a cherished member of her
 community, and she will long be remembered with respect and
 admiration by all who were privileged to share in her life; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Mary Esther Sanchez; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Mary Esther Sanchez.
