| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Guide Right, Kappa Alpha Psi's national service |

| 7 | 7 | | program, was created to help young people benefit from the training, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | experience, and life lessons of their successful elders; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | participants in the program have the opportunity to take part in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | activities that are designed to assist them with building |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | cooperative skills, improving their academic readiness for college, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and gaining a deep appreciation for community service; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The chapter has reached out to young people |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | through its collaborative partnerships with the Alamo Diamonds |

| 15 | 15 | | basketball teams and Big Brothers Big Sisters and through its |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | First Responders-Cohorts for Life program; these initiatives |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | provide youth with challenging and rewarding experiences that |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | enrich their lives and offer opportunities to develop their |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | leadership abilities; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through its Guide Right Program, the San Antonio |

| 21 | 21 | | Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., has made a |

| 22 | 22 | | profound impact in the lives of countless young people in San |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Antonio, and the chapter's members may take pride in their |

| 24 | 24 | | exemplary efforts to encourage and support the leaders of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | tomorrow; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the San Antonio Alumni |
