SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 639
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi
Fraternity, Inc., has demonstrated an admirable commitment to
helping youth reach their full potential through its Guide Right
Program; and
WHEREAS, Guide Right, Kappa Alpha Psi's national service
program, was created to help young people benefit from the training,
experience, and life lessons of their successful elders;
participants in the program have the opportunity to take part in
activities that are designed to assist them with building
cooperative skills, improving their academic readiness for college,
and gaining a deep appreciation for community service; and
WHEREAS, The chapter has reached out to young people
through its collaborative partnerships with the Alamo Diamonds
basketball teams and Big Brothers Big Sisters and through its
First Responders-Cohorts for Life program; these initiatives
provide youth with challenging and rewarding experiences that
enrich their lives and offer opportunities to develop their
leadership abilities; and
WHEREAS, Through its Guide Right Program, the San Antonio
Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., has made a
profound impact in the lives of countless young people in San
Antonio, and the chapter's members may take pride in their
exemplary efforts to encourage and support the leaders of
tomorrow; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the San Antonio Alumni
Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., for their dedication
to helping young people through the Guide Right Program and
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for the chapter as an expression of high regard by the
Texas Senate.
