| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Lakeway Police Department has celebrated a |

| 3 | 3 | | significant milestone in its history with the grand opening of |

| 4 | 4 | | its new headquarters building on May 11, 2019; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, After sharing a building with the Lakeway |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Municipal Court for many years, the department has now moved into |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | a new, 30,000-square-foot building located on nearly six acres of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | land; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This state-of-the-art law enforcement facility |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | includes a forensics laboratory, a conference room, a juvenile |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | processing room, a simulation room, and a gymnasium; it also has a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | training room that can serve as an emergency operations center and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | an emergency call center that covers both Lakeway and Bee Cave; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In addition, the building's design incorporates |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | thick glass interior walls and specially designed chairs without |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | arms that can accommodate the gear officers wear around their |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | waists; four temporary holding cells are located in the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | facility's basement; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Created to meet the needs of its growing community |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | for the next quarter century, the new Lakeway police headquarters |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | is a vital resource that will benefit area residents for years to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | come; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commemorate the opening of the new |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | headquarters of the Lakeway Police Department and extend to the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | members of the department sincere best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | success in their important work; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | prepared for the Lakeway Police Department as an expression of |
|---|
