SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 808
WHEREAS, The Lakeway Police Department has celebrated a
significant milestone in its history with the grand opening of
its new headquarters building on May 11, 2019; and
WHEREAS, After sharing a building with the Lakeway
Municipal Court for many years, the department has now moved into
a new, 30,000-square-foot building located on nearly six acres of
land; and
WHEREAS, This state-of-the-art law enforcement facility
includes a forensics laboratory, a conference room, a juvenile
processing room, a simulation room, and a gymnasium; it also has a
training room that can serve as an emergency operations center and
an emergency call center that covers both Lakeway and Bee Cave; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the building's design incorporates
thick glass interior walls and specially designed chairs without
arms that can accommodate the gear officers wear around their
waists; four temporary holding cells are located in the
facility's basement; and
WHEREAS, Created to meet the needs of its growing community
for the next quarter century, the new Lakeway police headquarters
is a vital resource that will benefit area residents for years to
come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
Legislature, hereby commemorate the opening of the new
headquarters of the Lakeway Police Department and extend to the
members of the department sincere best wishes for continued
success in their important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for the Lakeway Police Department as an expression of
high regard by the Texas Senate.
