| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Officer Henry Hughes is being recognized for his |

| 3 | 3 | | 35 years of service with the Nassau Bay Police Department at a |

| 4 | 4 | | city council meeting on June 10, 2019; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An alumnus of Clear Creek High School, Hank Hughes |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | graduated from the Alvin Community College Police Academy in 1984 |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and joined the Nassau Bay Police Department on June 1 of that |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | year; in the course of his long tenure with the department, he has |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | served as an investigator and a patrol officer; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Officer Hughes holds an associate degree in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | criminal justice from Alvin Community College and a master |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | peace officer license from the Texas Commission on Law |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Enforcement; certified as a court security specialist, he also |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | serves as a bailiff for the Nassau Bay Municipal Court; in his |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | spare time, he enjoys volunteering with the Houston Livestock |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Show and Rodeo; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | protecting the public, Hank Hughes has greatly benefited the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | residents of Nassau Bay, and he may take well-deserved pride in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | his record of achievement as he celebrates this important |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | milestone in his career; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend Officer Henry Hughes for his 35 years |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | of service to the Nassau Bay Police Department and extend to him |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | sincere best wishes for continued success with his important |
|---|
