SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 849 WHEREAS, Officer Henry Hughes is being recognized for his 35 years of service with the Nassau Bay Police Department at a city council meeting on June 10, 2019; and WHEREAS, An alumnus of Clear Creek High School, Hank Hughes graduated from the Alvin Community College Police Academy in 1984 and joined the Nassau Bay Police Department on June 1 of that year; in the course of his long tenure with the department, he has served as an investigator and a patrol officer; and WHEREAS, Officer Hughes holds an associate degree in criminal justice from Alvin Community College and a master peace officer license from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement; certified as a court security specialist, he also serves as a bailiff for the Nassau Bay Municipal Court; in his spare time, he enjoys volunteering with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo; and WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to protecting the public, Hank Hughes has greatly benefited the residents of Nassau Bay, and he may take well-deserved pride in his record of achievement as he celebrates this important milestone in his career; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th Legislature, hereby commend Officer Henry Hughes for his 35 years of service to the Nassau Bay Police Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Officer Hughes as an expression of high regard by the Texas Senate.
