                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 13, 2021       TO: Honorable Dade Phelan, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB1147 by Huberty (Relating to military readiness for purposes of the indicators of achievement under the public school accountability system and the college, career, or military readiness outcomes bonus under the Foundation School Program.), As Passed 2nd House     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would add enlistment in the Texas National Guard to the list of actions through which a graduate can demonstrate military readiness.This analysis assumes that costs associated with implementing the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources.  Local Government ImpactSchools would determine and collect data about students who enlist in the Texas National Guard and continue to collect data on enlistment in the armed forces of the United States.
