A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the applicability to open-enrollment charter schools of
certain law regarding travel expenses.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 12.1058, Education Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
(d) An open-enrollment charter school and an officer or
employee of an open-enrollment charter school are subject to
Section 660.093, Government Code, as though the school were a state
agency and the officer or employee were a state employee if using
state funds to pay or reimburse for the travel of the officer or
employee.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
