9+ A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
410 AN ACT
511 relating to the storage of firearms and ammunition in the same
612 locked location in certain foster homes.
713 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
814 SECTION 1. Section 42.042(e-1), Human Resources Code, is
915 amended to read as follows:
1016 (e-1) The commission may not prohibit possession of
1117 lawfully permitted firearms and ammunition in an agency foster
1218 home. Minimum standards may be adopted under this section relating
1319 to safety and proper storage of firearms and ammunition. The
1420 minimum standards must allow firearms and ammunition to be [stored
1521 separately or] stored together in the same locked location [if the
1622 firearms are stored with a trigger locking device attached to the
1723 firearms].
1824 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
