79 relating to a study on first responders' workers' compensation
810 claims by the workers' compensation research and evaluation group.
911 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1012 SECTION 1. Chapter 405, Labor Code, is amended by adding
1113 Section 405.0027 to read as follows:
1214 Sec. 405.0027. STUDY ON FIRST RESPONDER CLAIMS. (a) The
1315 group shall study workers' compensation claims involving first
1416 responders, as defined by Section 504.055.
1517 (b) The study must include an analysis of medical costs,
1618 return-to-work outcomes, access to and utilization of care,
1719 satisfaction with care, and health-related functional outcomes.
1820 (c) Not later than December 1, 2022, the group shall issue a
1921 report on the study conducted under this section to the governor,
2022 the lieutenant governor, the speaker of the house of
2123 representatives, and the legislature.
2224 (d) This section expires on January 1, 2023.
2325 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
