14 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

15 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 62.0061(a), Parks and Wildlife Code, is |
---|
16 | 11 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
17 | 12 | | (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), a person may not |
---|
18 | 13 | | hunt or take any wild animal or wild bird when the person is on or |
---|
19 | 14 | | over privately owned land that is: |
---|
20 | 15 | | (1) submerged under: |
---|
21 | 16 | | (A) public fresh water due to seasonal or |
---|
22 | 17 | | occasional innundation; or |
---|
23 | 18 | | (B) public salt water and located above the mean |
---|
24 | 19 | | high tide line of the Gulf of Mexico and its bays and estuaries; and |
---|
25 | 20 | | (2) conspicuously marked as privately owned by: |
---|
26 | 21 | | (A) a vertical purple line, at least eight inches |
---|
27 | 22 | | in length and one inch in width, painted on trees or posts on the |
---|
28 | 23 | | property so as to be readily visible to a person accessing the |
---|
29 | 24 | | property when the property is submerged by water; or |
---|
30 | 25 | | (B) a sign or signs that are substantially |
---|
31 | 26 | | similar to the following: |
---|
32 | 27 | | POSTED. PRIVATE PROPERTY. NO HUNTING. |
---|
33 | 28 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
