| 5 | 11 | | relating to the authority of a development corporation created by |
|---|
| 6 | 12 | | the Gulf Coast Authority to finance certain projects. |

| 7 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Section 3.01, Chapter 409, Acts of the 61st |
|---|
| 9 | 15 | | Legislature, Regular Session, 1969, is amended by adding Subsection |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | (g) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | (g) A development corporation created by the authority |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | under Chapter 501, Local Government Code, may finance: |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | (1) projects described by Subchapter C, Chapter 501, |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | Local Government Code, located inside or outside this state; and |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | (2) qualified improvements as defined by Section |
|---|
| 16 | 22 | | 399.002, Local Government Code, located inside or outside this |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | state in the same manner and to the same extent as a municipality or |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | county may do so under Chapter 399 of that code. |
|---|
| 19 | 25 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 20 | 26 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 21 | 27 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 22 | 28 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 23 | 29 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
