9 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 301.261, Occupations Code, is amended by | |
10 | 11 | adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows: | |
11 | 12 | (d-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (d) and as necessary to | |
12 | 13 | mitigate a nursing workforce shortage caused by a state of | |
13 | 14 | disaster, the board shall waive a requirement that a person pay a | |

15 | + | fee or complete any required continuing education to remove the | |

17 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |

19 | 20 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
20 | 21 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
21 | 22 | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
