410 AN ACT
511 relating to the deadline to begin a county fire code inspection in
612 certain counties.
713 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
814 SECTION 1. Section 233.064, Local Government Code, is
915 amended by amending Subsection (e) and adding Subsection (e-1) to
1016 read as follows:
1117 (e) Except as provided by Subsection (e-1), the [The] county
1218 shall begin the inspection of the building within five business
1319 days after the date of the receipt of the written inspection
1420 request. If an inspection is properly requested and the county does
1521 not begin the inspection within the time permitted by this
1622 subsection, the building that is the subject of the request is
1723 considered approved for the purposes of this subchapter.
1824 (e-1) A county with a population of more than 3.3 million
1925 shall begin the inspection of the building within 10 business days
20- after the date of receipt of the written inspection request, except
21- the county shall begin the inspection of an indoor retail fireworks
22- site, as defined by Section 2154.001, Occupations Code, within five
23- business days after the date of receipt of the written inspection
24- request.
