| 5 | 12 | | relating to the jurisdiction and management of the Star of the |
|---|
| 6 | 13 | | Republic Museum by the Texas Historical Commission. |

| 7 | 14 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Sections 442.062(a) and (c), Government Code, |
|---|
| 9 | 16 | | are amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 17 | | (a) The museum and its contents, artifacts, structure, and |
|---|
| 11 | 18 | | land are under the jurisdiction of the commission. The commission |
|---|
| 12 | 19 | | is responsible for the preservation, maintenance, and operation of |
|---|
| 13 | 20 | | the museum. |
|---|
| 14 | 21 | | (c) Any [Except as provided by Subsection (b), any] power or |
|---|
| 15 | 22 | | duty related to the museum formerly vested in any other state agency |
|---|
| 16 | 23 | | or entity is vested solely in the commission. |
|---|
| 17 | 24 | | SECTION 2. Section 442.062(b), Government Code, is |
|---|
| 18 | 25 | | repealed. |
|---|
| 19 | 26 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 20 | 27 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 21 | 28 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 22 | 29 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 23 | 30 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
