10+ A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
411 AN ACT
512 relating to the jurisdiction and management of the Star of the
613 Republic Museum by the Texas Historical Commission.
714 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
815 SECTION 1. Sections 442.062(a) and (c), Government Code,
916 are amended to read as follows:
1017 (a) The museum and its contents, artifacts, structure, and
1118 land are under the jurisdiction of the commission. The commission
1219 is responsible for the preservation, maintenance, and operation of
1320 the museum.
1421 (c) Any [Except as provided by Subsection (b), any] power or
1522 duty related to the museum formerly vested in any other state agency
1623 or entity is vested solely in the commission.
1724 SECTION 2. Section 442.062(b), Government Code, is
1825 repealed.
1926 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2027 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2128 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2229 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2330 Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
