| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 207, Labor Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 207.0435 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 207.0435. APPRAISAL REVIEW BOARD MEMBERS. Benefits | |
| 14 | 14 | are not payable to an individual based on services performed by the | |
| 15 | 15 | individual as a member of the appraisal review board of an appraisal | |
| 16 | 16 | district established under Section 6.41, Tax Code. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 18 | 18 | to a claim for unemployment compensation benefits filed with the | |
| 19 | 19 | Texas Workforce Commission on or after the effective date of this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act. A claim filed before the effective date of this Act is | |
| 21 | 21 | governed by the law in effect on the date the claim was filed, and | |
| 22 | 22 | the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
