A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the release of data purchased by the Texas Department of
Transportation.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter J, Chapter 201, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 201.813 to read as follows:
Sec. 201.813. DATA PURCHASED BY DEPARTMENT. (a)
Notwithstanding any other law or agreement to the contrary, on
request, the department shall provide a written or electronic copy
of any data purchased by the department, including data,
disaggregated by county, that was purchased for the purpose of
conducting the study on the Ports-to-Plains Corridor required by
Chapter 756 (H.B. 1079), Acts of the 86th Legislature, Regular
Session, 2019.
(b) The department shall provide data described by
Subsection (a) to a requestor within a reasonable time but not later
than the 60th day after the date the department receives the
request.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
