| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 403.075, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 10 | 10 | adding Subsections (d-1) and (d-2) to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (d-1) A person may submit, and the governor may approve, | |
| 12 | 12 | multiple claims under this section for any one event or cause giving | |
| 13 | 13 | rise to a deficiency. | |
| 14 | 14 | (d-2) Each biennium, the legislature shall determine the | |
| 15 | 15 | total appropriations available, if any, from which claims may be | |
| 16 | 16 | paid under this section. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. Section 403.075(e), Government Code, is | |
| 18 | 18 | repealed. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
