A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to limitations on claims for warrants for payments of
certain deficiencies.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 403.075, Government Code, is amended by
adding Subsections (d-1) and (d-2) to read as follows:
(d-1) A person may submit, and the governor may approve,
multiple claims under this section for any one event or cause giving
rise to a deficiency.
(d-2) Each biennium, the legislature shall determine the
total appropriations available, if any, from which claims may be
paid under this section.
SECTION 2. Section 403.075(e), Government Code, is
repealed.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
