12 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is | |
14 | 10 | amended by adding Section 662.083 to read as follows: | |
15 | 11 | Sec. 662.083. ALZHEIMER'S AWARENESS DAY. (a) September 21 | |
16 | 12 | is Alzheimer's Awareness Day to increase awareness of individuals | |
17 | 13 | who are suffering from dementia and to express appreciation to the | |
18 | 14 | caregivers of Alzheimer's patients for the services and care | |
19 | 15 | provided to the patients. | |
20 | 16 | (b) Alzheimer's Awareness Day shall be regularly observed | |
21 | 17 | by appropriate programs and activities. | |
22 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | |
