A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to guidance on the regulations applicable to the potable
reuse of wastewater.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 341, Health and Safety
Code, is amended by adding Section 341.0391 to read as follows:
Sec. 341.0391. DIRECT POTABLE REUSE GUIDANCE. (a) In this
section, "direct potable reuse" means the introduction of treated
reclaimed water either directly into a potable water system or into
the raw water supply entering a drinking water treatment plant.
(b) The commission shall develop and make available to the
public a regulatory guidance manual to explain commission rules
that apply to direct potable reuse.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
