                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             March 13, 2021       TO: Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Public Health     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB723 by Patterson (Relating to notice of a modification to the medical certification information on a death certificate.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to prescribe a manner in which medical certifiers would provide written notification to the next of kin of a modification to the medical certification information on a death certificate. DSHS indicates it could absorb the costs associated with the bill within current resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
