7 | 13 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
8 | 14 | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 1302, Occupations Code, is | |
9 | 15 | amended by adding Section 1302.304 to read as follows: | |
10 | 16 | Sec. 1302.304. MUNICIPAL FEES. (a) A municipality may not | |
11 | 17 | charge a registration fee to a person who holds a license issued | |
12 | 18 | under Subchapter F for: | |
13 | 19 | (1) work performed in the municipality; or | |
14 | 20 | (2) notice provided under Section 1302.262. | |
15 | 21 | (b) This section does not prohibit a municipality from | |
16 | 22 | charging a building permit fee. | |
17 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | |
