4	10		AN ACT
5	11		relating to the issuance of specially marked driver's licenses and
6	12		personal identification certificates to veterans.
7	13		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
8	14		SECTION 1. Section 521.102, Transportation Code, is amended
9	15		by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
10	16		(g) The department shall establish and maintain on the
11	17		department's Internet website forms and procedures by which a
12	18		veteran or disabled veteran may request and provide the proof
13	19		required for a designation on a personal identification certificate
14	20		or renewal of a personal identification certificate with a
15	21		designation under this section by submitting a form and the
16	22		required proof electronically on the department's Internet
17	23		website.
18	24		SECTION 2. Section 521.1235, Transportation Code, is
19	25		amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
20	26		(g) The department shall establish and maintain on the
21	27		department's Internet website forms and procedures by which a
22	28		veteran or disabled veteran may request and provide the proof
23	29		required for a designation on a driver's license or renewal of a
24	30		driver's license with a designation under this section by
25	31		submitting a form and the required proof electronically on the
26	32		department's Internet website.
27	33		SECTION 3. Not later than January 1, 2022, the Department of
28	34		Public Safety of the State of Texas shall establish and maintain on
29	35		the department's Internet website the forms and procedures required
30	36		by Sections 521.102(g) and 521.1235(g), Transportation Code, as
31	37		added by this Act.
32	38		SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
