| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Danny Lee Knight Sr. of Waxahachie, who passed away on April 9, |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Bud and Ethel Mae "Cricket" Knight, Danny |

| 9 | 10 | | Knight was born on August 31, 1954, in Wichita Falls and grew up in |

| 10 | 11 | | the town of Petty with five siblings, Bobby, Maxine, Betty, Buddy, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | and Kathy; he graduated from West Lamar High School in 1973; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Knight |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | joined the United States Air Force in January 1975 and became an air |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | traffic controller; after returning home from the military, he was |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | employed by the Campbell Soup company, and in 1985, he started |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | working at the U.S. Post Office in Dallas; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Knight enjoyed the love |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | and support of his wife of more than four and a half decades, Lyne, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | and he took great pride in their children, John, Danny, and Heaven; |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family |

| 21 | 22 | | grow to include eight grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jalyn, Mason, |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Landry, London, Madie, Jax, and Broox; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Danny Knight |

| 24 | 25 | | leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far |

| 25 | 26 | | richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured |

| 26 | 27 | | place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
