H.R. No. 1299
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
of Danny Lee Knight Sr. of Waxahachie, who passed away on April 9,
2021, at the age of 66; and
WHEREAS, The son of Bud and Ethel Mae "Cricket" Knight, Danny
Knight was born on August 31, 1954, in Wichita Falls and grew up in
the town of Petty with five siblings, Bobby, Maxine, Betty, Buddy,
and Kathy; he graduated from West Lamar High School in 1973; and
WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Knight
joined the United States Air Force in January 1975 and became an air
traffic controller; after returning home from the military, he was
employed by the Campbell Soup company, and in 1985, he started
working at the U.S. Post Office in Dallas; and
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Knight enjoyed the love
and support of his wife of more than four and a half decades, Lyne,
and he took great pride in their children, John, Danny, and Heaven;
with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family
grow to include eight grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jalyn, Mason,
Landry, London, Madie, Jax, and Broox; and
WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Danny Knight
leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured
place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Danny Lee Knight Sr.
and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Danny
Knight.
