| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Paolo Martinez has ably served his fellow Texans as |

| 6 | 7 | | an aide in the office of State Representative Gene Wu during the |

| 7 | 8 | | 87th Legislative Session; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Martinez has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |

| 10 | 11 | | in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, An alumnus of Kinder High School for the Performing |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | and Visual Arts in Houston, Mr. Martinez attended The University of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Texas at San Antonio before transferring to UT Austin, where he is |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in government; active in his |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | community, he volunteered with a local political campaign, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | cofounded Houston Youth Activists, and participated in AmeriCorps; |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | moreover, he has served as a youth program lead and volunteer |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | manager for the Houston branch of the American Red Cross; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his |

| 22 | 23 | | duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is |

| 23 | 24 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commend Paolo Martinez for his service as a |
