| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Brian Johnson was reelected as mayor of Kennedale in |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, First elected in 2014, Mayor Johnson serves as the |

| 8 | 9 | | second vice president of Texas Municipal League Region 8, as chair |

| 9 | 10 | | of the Mayors' Council of Tarrant County, and as vice chair of the |

| 10 | 11 | | Southeast Tarrant Transportation Partnership; he is also immediate |

| 11 | 12 | | past chair of the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition |

| 12 | 13 | | executive board and a member of the boards of the Tarrant County |

| 13 | 14 | | Homeless Coalition and Tarrant County 9-1-1 District; moreover, he |

| 14 | 15 | | has contributed his time and expertise to several National League |

| 15 | 16 | | of Cities committees; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Johnson was appointed to the city council in |

| 17 | 18 | | 2005, and he served as mayor pro tem from 2012 to 2014; for seven |

| 18 | 19 | | years, he was a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, which |

| 19 | 20 | | he chaired from 2001 to 2005; he was also involved in the Imagine |

| 20 | 21 | | Kennedale 2015 planning committee that developed TownCenter Plaza; |

| 21 | 22 | | in 2009, he was named Community Representative of the Year by the |

| 22 | 23 | | Kennedale Area Chamber of Commerce; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the |

| 24 | 25 | | able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Brian |

| 25 | 26 | | Johnson may indeed take pride in his outstanding leadership in |

| 26 | 27 | | addressing the needs of the community; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
