 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Brian Johnson was reelected as mayor of Kennedale in
 November 2020; and
 WHEREAS, First elected in 2014, Mayor Johnson serves as the
 second vice president of Texas Municipal League Region 8, as chair
 of the Mayors' Council of Tarrant County, and as vice chair of the
 Southeast Tarrant Transportation Partnership; he is also immediate
 past chair of the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition
 executive board and a member of the boards of the Tarrant County
 Homeless Coalition and Tarrant County 9-1-1 District; moreover, he
 has contributed his time and expertise to several National League
 of Cities committees; and
 WHEREAS, Mayor Johnson was appointed to the city council in
 2005, and he served as mayor pro tem from 2012 to 2014; for seven
 years, he was a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, which
 he chaired from 2001 to 2005; he was also involved in the Imagine
 Kennedale 2015 planning committee that developed TownCenter Plaza;
 in 2009, he was named Community Representative of the Year by the
 Kennedale Area Chamber of Commerce; and
 WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
 able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Brian
 Johnson may indeed take pride in his outstanding leadership in
 addressing the needs of the community; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Brian Johnson on his reelection as
 mayor of Kennedale and extend to him sincere best wishes for another
 successful term in office; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mayor Johnson as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
