| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Paula Blackmon was reelected as the District 9 |

| 7 | 8 | | welcome opportunity to recognize the exemplary leadership she has |

| 8 | 9 | | demonstrated over the course of her tenure; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, First elected in 2019, Ms. Blackmon draws on a |

| 10 | 11 | | wealth of knowledge in issues related to economic development, |

| 11 | 12 | | housing, education, and transportation; a lifelong Texan and a |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | resident of East Dallas for 25 years, she has worked as a political |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | strategist for campaigns at every level of government; in addition, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | she has served as the director of public affairs for The Real Estate |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Council, where she played an instrumental role in securing funding |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | for the construction of Klyde Warren Park; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The effective operation of municipal government |

| 18 | 19 | | depends on the able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, |

| 19 | 20 | | and Paula Blackmon may indeed take pride in her outstanding record |

| 20 | 21 | | of achievement; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 22 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Paula Blackmon on her reelection to |
