H.R. No. 1426
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Paula Blackmon was reelected as the District 9
representative on the Dallas City Council in May 2021, providing a
welcome opportunity to recognize the exemplary leadership she has
demonstrated over the course of her tenure; and
WHEREAS, First elected in 2019, Ms. Blackmon draws on a
wealth of knowledge in issues related to economic development,
housing, education, and transportation; a lifelong Texan and a
resident of East Dallas for 25 years, she has worked as a political
strategist for campaigns at every level of government; in addition,
she has served as the director of public affairs for The Real Estate
Council, where she played an instrumental role in securing funding
for the construction of Klyde Warren Park; and
WHEREAS, The effective operation of municipal government
depends on the able and dedicated efforts of our public servants,
and Paula Blackmon may indeed take pride in her outstanding record
of achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Paula Blackmon on her reelection to
the Dallas City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for
another successful term in office; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Blackmon as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
