H.R. No. 1708
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Residents of Socorro elected Ruben Reyes as the at
large representative on the city council in December 2020,
entrusting him with an important leadership role in local
government; and
WHEREAS, In carrying out the responsibilities of his office,
Mr. Reyes is joining with the other members of the city council to
address the urgent issues facing the community, and their work will
have a lasting influence on the daily lives of their fellow
citizens; and
WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and the skills
and experience possessed by Ruben Reyes are sure to serve him well
as he takes on this challenging new role; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ruben Reyes on his election as the
at large representative on the Socorro City Council and that he be
extended sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Reyes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
